THE TOWER & THE MOSQUE OF KUDUS

The Menara Kudus Mosque has a unique architecture, combining the architecture of Java and Hindu Islam. The tower was made of red bricks with a height of about 17 m. The ancient Mosque of Kudus was built in 1685 by Syeh Jafar Shodiq (Sunan Kudus). In the Islamic calendar, as written in Arabic on the stone located in one of the areas of the mosque, the Mosque of Kudus or Al-Aqsha Mosque was built in 956 H. This holy place is located in Kauman district, Kota Kudus subdistrict, about 1.5 kilometers from Kudus city center.
