Creative Market In Cilacap (1)

A few years back in each region created a creative market that provides a variety of traditional culinary, arts, and performances. The market has its uniqueness. Some have unique building concepts, merchandise, shows presented, and natural scenery around the market. 

As in Cilacap, these markets are made by locals as new tourist attractions. Of course, this market increases the creative economy for citizens. Some of these creative markets include:

PANGGOK MARKET 

Panggok means traditional in Indonesian. In Panggok Market, there are many kinds of traditional culinary. From snacks, heavy meals, and drinks. The snacks there are ganyong, gembili, typical street satay, rujak bebek (mashed fruit salad) that uses noni fruit, glutinous rice flour porridge, rice flour porridge, lepet, ciwel, and other market snacks. 

There are several heavy foods that we often find such as chicken satay, yellow rice, and Indonesian coconut rice. There are also foods that we rarely meet such as among-among rice, this rice is usually present at the celebration of the birth of the baby. 

While the drink is badeg, the drink taken from this palm tree tastes sweet and a bit breezy. The other traditional drinks such as wedang ronde and a hot ginger drink. Some culinary are presented in traditional packaging with coconut shells, bamboo, and banana leaves. 

At Panggok Market, visitors can take selfies on the streets that have been decorated with umbrellas and painted interesting pictures. Visitors can use a traditional hat named caping as property. The location of Panggok Market is in Slarang Village, Kesugihan District. Open every Saturday 12 am-9 pm and Sunday 6 am-finish. The place is in the yard of the people's house and surrounded by bamboo trees makes the atmosphere beautiful and cool.

KAMPOENG PENDEKAR (WARRIOR TOWN)

As the name implies, Kampoeng Pendekar is made like a village inhabited by warriors. Some people are dressed as warriors, such as the Blind Man from the Ghost Cave. All managers and sellers also dress like ancient people, using jarit, striated cloth, and blangkon (Javanese traditional headwear). We as visitors can also rent swordsman-style clothes and take selfies with them. 

Not only the clothes but the place is also designed like a village in the past with building materials from wood and bamboo. The properties used are also like kendil (a pot for cooking rice), pawon, table, wood, and others that give the impression of the past. 

The ticket price is IDR 3,000 per person. The means of payment in Kampoeng Pendekar is also in the form of kepeng money. One kepeng is IDR 2,000. The money can be used to buy culinary that is peddled by the seller. The food sold is surely traditional culinary. Almost like Panggok Market, the difference is certainly in the means of payment. 

Kampoeng Pendekar is located in Sidaurip Village, Binangun District. Open only on Sundays from morning to evening. Every week there is always a traditional art performance displayed on the stage. (Kasih)
