Gumelem Tourism Village – A Charm In Banjarnegara

Gumelem Tourism Village consists of two villages; Gumelem Wetan Village and Gumelem Kulon Village. Both villages are located in Susukan District, Banjarnegara Regency. Gumelem Tourism Village is unique since this village is a land led by Demang in the Mataram Kingdom era and this heritage is still well preserved.

Tourist attractions in Gumelem Tourism Village are Dapit (Daya Pikat Pingit) Bathing with a hot spring, Tomb of Kademangan, Tomb of Ki Ageng Giring, Tomb of Sunan Geseng, and Gumelem Batik. This village is also known for Empu or blacksmith, culinary of landan petis, and its traditional drinks wedang jalang, wedang jembawuk, and goong coffee.

 

Tourists coming to Gumelem Tourism Village are welcomed by embedding udheng (headband) and welcoming drink degan (young coconut water). Next, tourists can learn to make batik in one of Gumelem batik craftsmen. The trip becomes much more fun because the tourists take a look around the village by cart or horse carriage. They will see the ancient mosque built in the era of The Wali. Plus, they can enjoy an attraction from the blacksmith and visit the Tomb of Ki Ageng Giring under Giri Langen Hill.

 

The trip continues to the Tomb of Sunan Geseng by riding a jeep. The head of Pokdarwis Giri Indah, Angga, explained, “Actually, the trip is only 30 minutes from the center of Village Government.
