Had A Vacuum, Festival Layang-Layang Purworejo 2022 Is Held Again

The government of Purworejo Regency, through the Office of Youth, Sports, and Tourism, held Festival Layang-Layang 2022, or Kites Festival on Saturday to Sunday, 27-28 August 2022. This annual event was last held in 2019. It was a vacuum in 2020 and 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Located in Ketawang Beach, more than 40 communities of kites participate in Festival Layang-Layang. They are from Purworejo, Jawa Tengah regional, East Java, DKI Jakarta, and Lampung. There are also some from Poland, Sweden, and Japan.

On the first day, there is a competition for 2D creation, 3D creation, and traditional kites categories. Meanwhile, the dragon kites competition is on the second day.

At the field, visitors from children, teens, to adults fulfill Ketawang Beach. The hot and blazing weather does not drain the visitors' energy since they still get enthusiastic looking for various creations of kites flying in the sky of Purworejo.
