Sangiran : The Homeland Of Ancient Man

"Don't you want to visit Jawa Tengah?"

"No, I want to stop hoping, Bandung Bandawasa has made the temple for Roro Jonggrang."

What comes to our minds when we hear about Jawa Tengah tourism? It must be a temple, right? Wait a minute! It is okay to be disappointed because Mas Bandung was able to build a thousand temples in one night for Mbak Jonggrang. However, the charm of Jawa Tengah is not only about temples and the remains of the Hindu-Buddhist kingdom. Several tourist destinations are no less beautiful and amazing to visit. Sangiran Archaeological Site is one of them.

Sangiran, that's right! The most complete archaeological site in Asia, which is administratively located in the Sragen and Karanganyar Regency, stores tens of thousands of the first human ancestors, Homo Erectus fossils, including animals and rocks fossils. Fossils of Pithecanthropus Erectus (Javanese Man) from the Old Stone Age (Paleolithic) about two million years ago are also one of the archaeological treasures at the site that has been designated as a world cultural heritage by UNESCO in 1996 under the name "Sangiran Early Man Site".

The potential of our cultural resources is very abundant. Sangiran is one of the cultural properties that is recognized as a World Heritage. However, if you stop and be complacent without ongoing maintenance, our tourism treasures may be removed from the World Heritage list because they do not meet the applicable requirements during their journey. So, what is our job? Surely, it is not enough to be proud.

The village of ancient fossils which was previously called ' balung buto' (giant bone) by the Sangiran community is not just a missing link in the evolutionary chain of the transition from primitive humans to modern humans. Moreover, for science, Sangiran is an ancient reference to the world. The current generation must understand that the Sangiran site does not simply have the definition of 'Fossil and Fossil'.

Change the mindset that often haunts us. Keeping Sangiran is not only preserving bones, stone tools from ancient human culture, and ancient soil layers but showing changes in the natural environment since 2 million years ago without being interrupted is also Sangiran's archaeological wealth that must be invigorated. So it does not get lost over time. In addition, the tranquility of the surrounding nature and the friendliness of the community have become the identity that Sangiran is a reflection of the nation as a tourist destination that carries elements of science and culture that need to be maintained.

How? By visiting Krikilan Village, Kalijambe, Sragen with less than 10,000 IDR, you get an upgrade facility for historical insight and pamper your eyes in an expanse of 5,900 hectares with views of the past. Who knows, back and forth with the future! It is interesting, isn't it? A place that will teach us about extinction or choosing to survive. We will only get this fact if we visit Sangiran. (Wiwin)
