THE HISTORICAL HERITAGE OF LITTLE CHINA IN LASEM

Lasem is a sub-district in Rembang Regency. The nickname 'Little China' was pinned because it was believed to be the landing area of the Chinese people in Java. In addition, this area has developed into a Chinese village long ago. Lasem is also known as the center of batik of three famous countries. There are also many hundreds of years old pagodas, such as the Cu An Kiong Temple on Jl. Garlic. However, in Lasem you can also find old Islamic boarding schools that have Chinese architectural buildings, such as the Al-Hidayat Asy-Syakiriyyah Islamic Boarding School in Soditan and the Kauman Islamic Boarding School in Karangturi. No wonder Lasem is known as the city of tolerance. When traveling to Lasem, don't forget to visit one of the old buildings that has become a tourist icon, namely the Lasem Heritage Red House. After revitalization in 2021, the Lasem Heritage Area is now more attractive and beautiful.
