Buka Luwur Sunan Muria
The series of Buka Luwur Sunan Muria events begins on the 1st of Muharram with the recitation of manaqib, New Year prayers, Istigasah As-Syuro, donations to orphans, and Qur’an recitation. The highlight of the event is marked by a public religious sermon and the distribution of rice wrapped in teak leaves served with buffalo meat.
