Giant Lopis Cutting Ceremony
The Giant Lopis Festival is held every
H+7 of Eid al-Fitr. In the days leading up to the event, the giant lopis is cooked together by the community. At the peak of the festival, the lopis is cut by the mayor and community leaders and distributed for free to attendees. This tradition, which has been celebrated since the 1950, symbolizes togetherness and community bonding.
