Most of the area of Temangung regency consists of plateau and mountain range, a part of Dieng plateau. In the border of Temanggung and Wonosobo is Sindoro and Sumbing Mountain. Temanggus is on province route connecting Semarang to Purwokerto. Parakan-Weleri route connects Temanggung to north beach route and Pringsurat, confined by Semarang regency.
