PRAMBANAN TEMPLE

It is the biggest Hindu heritage and has beautiful scenery because of the design. It has historical background that attracts the tourists. This makes Prambanan become the second top of tourism object in Klaten. The site is located on 17 kilometers away from Yogyakarta. The temple was built in the 9th century and it has 3 main shrines with 47 meters height. Those three depict Trimurti, the belief to 3 gods, they are; Shiva (the destroyer) in the centre, Brahmana (the keeper) in the south, and Wishnu (the creator) in the north. There are 3 smaller shirens in front of those three main ones that depict the transportation of Trimurti. They are; Shiva's Nandi (a buffalo), Brahma's Goose, and Vishnu's Garuda. The tourists can learn the Ramayana story from the reliefs carved on the clockwise along the wall of Shiva's shrine to the Brahma. While Krisnayana story is carved along the wall of Vishnu.
