Charming Telu Waterfall

After feeling tired of working every day, you must want a fun weekend. You can do your favorite hobby, clean the house, meet family and loved people or go on a trip to a place you like.

Going on a trip can be a nice choice for refreshing our minds. Some like to go to the beach, mountains, parks, and others. In Banyumas Regency, there is no beach, because of its geographical location on the slopes of Mount Slamet. This makes Banyumas have many tourist attractions that characterize the highlands, such as waterfalls.

Waterfalls in Banyumas by the locals are commonly called curug. There are many waterfalls in Banyumas. Those that have been exposed as tourist attractions or those that are still remote and untouched by humans. These waterfalls are still beautiful and have their own charms. Some have stairs up to seven levels, some are nice for plunging, some are lined up with more than one stream, and many others.

This time I visited one of the waterfalls in Banyumas which is not too far from Baturraden. So, this waterfall can be an option if you want to enjoy another atmosphere of Mount Slamet besides Baturraden. Why? This waterfall has several places that can be visited, the ticket price is cheap, and the facilities are quite adequate.

The waterfall is named Curug Telu or Telu Waterfall.

Curug means waterfall and telu mean three. So, it is certain that this waterfall has three streams of waterfalls. Yet, it does not mean we only enjoy the three waterfalls. There is another waterfall that we can enjoy before arriving at Telu Waterfall.

Telu Waterfall is located in Karangsalam Village, Baturraden District. Before entering the first gate of Baturraden, you can turn right and then follow the directions. The location of Telu Waterfall can be accessed using a private vehicle, motorbike, or car. Although it has been uphill and cornering, it is smooth and easy to pass.

Arriving at Telu Waterfall, you only need to pay IDR 5,000 per person as an entrance ticket. You can come from 8 AM to 4 PM. We have to walk to Telu Waterfall and several other places. The stairs to the waterfall are nice so you don't have to worry about being slippery or dirty. Some of the places that can be enjoyed in Telu Waterfall include:

Sendang Bidadari or Bidadari Spring

About 5 minutes from the entrance, we can stop at Bidadari Spring. In Bidadari Spring, there is a waterfall that is somewhat hidden in a cave. Maybe because of its hidden location, Bidadari Spring was chosen by angels so they do not be visible from the outside. There are many rocks with cold water flow and fresh air, which make Bidadari Spring must be visited.

Kedung Pete or Pete Pool

Continuing the journey with the peculiar sound of forest animals and if we are lucky there is a tree with yellow flowers in bloom, we arrive at Kedung Pete. This low-flow waterfall and few rocks make Kedung Pete often used for swimming.

In Kedung Pete, there are also many stalls, bathrooms, and prayer rooms. So, you can rest longer in Kedung Pete to enjoy the view or just chat with friends.

Curug Telu or Telu Waterfall

From Kedung Pete, you still have to continue your journey on foot to Telu Waterfall. Arriving at Telu Waterfall, we can see three waterfalls that are 7-8 meters high. One with a very fast flow and the other two not too fast. Beside the waterfall that flows fast, two small flowing waterfalls come out of the cliff.

In Telu Waterfall, you are prohibited from jumping from cliffs because there are many rocks. You can only take a shower or just wash your feet and take pictures among the rocks. Also, be careful if you want to swim or play in the water during the rainy season, water can come and flood.

How is it? Interested in visiting Telu Waterfall? Don't forget to enjoy mendoan (fried tempeh) and a cup of coffee. Invite friends to make your trip more memorable.
