HAUL AKBAR RADEN FATAH (FEBRUARY 2022)
Haul Akbar is Quran reciting event dedicate to the death of R. Fatah as the first Sultan of Demak. He died on 13 Jumadil Akhir 924 H (1518 AD). He died on: 13 Jumadil Akhir 924 H (1518 AD). The Haul activity was held with a grand recitation in the month of: Jumadil Akhir (February 2022), which was attended by Islamic communities/organizations both inside and outside Kota Demak. This event is hosted by Takmir Masjid Agung Demak.
PENGAJIAN AKBAR AL HIKMAH (FEBRUARI 2022)
This grand recitation is hosted by Persatuan Pengajian Al Hikmah Kabupaten Demak and was held to commemorate the death of Raden Fatah, was held in Jumadil Akhir (February 2022), attended by local/outside communities as well as Al Hikmah recitation associations throughout Jawa Tengah.
Cultural Parade is a commemoration to the anniversary of Kabupaten Demak, which is every March 28. Cultural Parade features cultural diversity that exists in Demak Regency and attended by all OPDs, representatives from sub-districts throughout Kabupaten Demak and schools. The Kirab Budaya will be held on March 30, 2022. The leading sector of the cultural carnival is the Education and Culture Office of Demak Regency.
FESTIVAL BAND (MARCH 2022)
Festival Band was an event commemorate to the anniversary of Demak Regency and planned to be held in March 2022. The leading sector of this event is Tourism Office of Demak Regency.
RUWATAN (MARCH AND AUGUST 2022)
Ruwatan is a traditional ceremony tradition that remains preserved by people of Kabupaten Demak. Ruwatan means get rid of bad luck or save people from distractions. This activity was hosted by the heirs of Kanjeng Sunan Kalijaga in the months of Rajab and Muharam (March and August 2022) in Pendopo Notobratan (Kadilangu).
MEGENGAN (APRIL 2022)
Megengan held every April 2 to welcome the holy month of Ramadhan. This event take place in Alun-alun Simpang Enam, Kabupaten Demak. There will be a lot of signature dish of Demak Regency.
SYAWALAN (MAY 9 2022)
Syawalan is a tradition where people in the coast do sea alms as a symbol of manifestation of the fishermen’s gratitude for the fortune given by the Allah SWT, which comes from the wealth of the sea. This tradition held every seven days after Eid al-Fitr (Syawal 8). The celebration of Syawalan planned to be held on May 9 2022. The leading sector of this event is Tourism Office of Demak Regency.
APITAN (JUNE 2022)
Apitan is a bit similar to Syawalan where people also do sea alms as a gratitude to Allah for the nature wealth of earth given to people. This tradition is held by each sub-district/village in Demak Regency every Apit month (Dzulqoidah/Juni 2022)
GREBEG BESAR (JULY 9 2022)
Grebeg Besar is a Local Cultural Wisdom of Kabupaten Demak and takes place every 10 Dzulhijah or Eid al-Adha. This year 10 Dzulhijah falls on July 10, 2022. The leading sector of Grebeg Besar is Tourism Office of Demak Regency.
PAWAI PANJANG JIMAT (JULY 2022)
Pawai Panjang Jimat is a carnaval celebrate to commemorate Tahun Baru Hijriah in Muharram 1 (July 2022). The carnival that shows the richness of Islamic culture in Demak Regency attended by elementary, junior high, senior high school, Madrasah, Islamic Boarding Schools students and Islamic Organizations in Demak Regency. The leading sector for Pawai Panjang Jimat is Takmir Masjid Agung Demak.
DUTA WISATA (JULY 2022)
Duta Wisata or Tourism Ambassador is an event selection for Mas and Mbak Duta Wisata Kabupaten Demak for 17-24 years people. This event is planned to be held in July 2022.
KARNAVAL KEMERDEKAAN (AUGUST 20 2022)
Karnaval Kemerdekaan or Independence Carnival was held to commemorate the Independence Day of the Republic Indonesia and attended by all components: all OPDs Kabupaten Demak, students from elementary, junior high, and highschool, BUMD, BUMN, private companies and communities in the sub-district in Kabupaten Demak. Karnaval Kemerdekaan is planned to be held on August 20, 2022. The leading sector of this event is Tourism Office of Demak Regency.
DEMAK EXPO (AUGUST 2022)
Demak Expo is an exhibition for superior products, UMKM products, creative economy of Demak Regency hosted by Trade and Cooperatives of Demak Regency in commemoration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
PENTAS SENI AKHIR TAHUN (DECEMBER 31 2022)
Pentas Seni Akhir Tahun is an art performance event to welcome new year, which features youth creativity in Kabupaten Demak on December 31, 2022. This event organized by Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Demak.
