Dieng Remains Visitors Limited Open During Community Activity Restriction Policy (PPKM)

Dieng remains open to the public during the extension of the Micro-Scale Activity Restrictions (PPKM). This was conveyed by the Head of the Tourism and Cultural Department, Agung Yusianto when giving a speech during the Work Visit of Commission B of the Jawa Tengah Provincial DPRD at Dieng Banjarnegara on Wednesday (27/1). "However, the visit time is limited from 7 am to 4 pm. The visitors are limited to 30% of normal conditions," he added. Meanwhile, Arjuna Temple tours, water tourism, and entertainment or karaoke are temporarily closed, especially for nature tourism, they are still open to the public. Agung explained that the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on reducing the number of tourists in the Dieng Plateau Tourism Area. "Domestic tourists decrease 34% and foreign tourists less 77% from the previous year. This has an effect on the economic stability of the community as well as local revenue from the tourism sector," explained Agung.

Regarding the policy of the Banjarnegara in increasing accessibility to Dieng via the Singomerto, Pagentan, and Pej Offer routes,  it will save the distance of about 7 km. This policy will increase the number of visitors since the opening of Sudirman Airport in Purbalingga Regency.

The Commission Secretary, the leader, M. Ngainirrichad, emphasized the need for synergy and openness cooperation in intensifying border tourism between Banjarnegara and Batang because it would have an impact on improving society's welfare. On the same occasion, Hendrawan, the Head of the Tourism Area Development, said that the Disporapar Jawa Tengah Province will support building cooperation with other regencies and related institutions.

Dieng is a National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) which has multi-management conditions, so Disporapar will try to hold an MOU between Banjarnegara Regency - Ministry of Education and Culture - Ministry of Environment - Wonosobo Regency - Batang and PT. Dieng Jaya, towards single management to accelerate the development and progress of the Dieng Tourism Area, he said.
