Family Recreation At Batang Dolphin Centre

After closed for a while, the Batang Dolphin Center (BDC) has reopened to the public. Not only for recreation, BDC can also be a place for education for the visitors.

BDC is located in the Sigandu Beach area, Batang District, which borders the Kandeman District. Its easy access is one of the reasons this place is running smoothly for the people around. Visitors only need about 10 minutes from Alun-alun Batang to get here. This tourist attraction is open from 09.00 to 17.00 WIB.

With ticket price for Rp. 40,000/person, visitors can see a lot of animals. Start from reptiles, various birds, camels, elephants and others. The atmosphere there is made as close as possible to their natural habitat. To add to the attractive impression, the manager also conceptualizes the appearance of each continent. There are Asia and Africa. Not only endemic animals typical of the continent, they are also prepared special spots for selfies or iconic spots for each continent.

This ticket also can use by the visitors to watch live smart dolphin attractions. This attraction can certainly spoil our eyes, especially for kids. Because these dolphins can not only perform various movements, such as dancing and jumping, but also can perform simple mathematical calculations. No doubt, children can be more enthusiastic about learning because they don't want to lose to the dolphins. After the show, visitors are also allowed to take pictures with the dolphins. But in Covid-10 pandemic, the BDC has no longer does this service.

Actually, there are still a lot of things you can do with dolphins in normal conditions. One of them is, BDC provides therapeutic services for autistic children. There is a unique therapy that is aided by the presence of dolphins. The cost of BDC treatment is estimated Rp. 250,000 each session.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the BDC has prepared all facilities and infrastructure in line with health protocols to support the prevention of the Covid-19 spread and also physical distancing. Visitors must wear masks or face shields, the temperature must be below 38 degrees, and the visitor limit is just 300-500 persons. There will be alternate visits for tour groups of up to 20 persons, led by a BDC tour guide.

Not only that, but every time visistor enter the animal section, there will be a spot to wash hands and visitors have to keeping distance from the animals.
