The Attraction Of Waterfall In Giritirta Tourism Village Banjarnegara

Banjarnegara Regency is a paradise for natural and cultural tourism. Almost every village has its own uniqueness. No wonder that this 'Kota Dawet Ayu' is called 'the heart of Jawa Tengah tourism' or 'The Heart of Java'. 

Out of hundreds of tourist attractions in Banjarnegara, there are Curug Genting, which is about 70-meter-height, and Curug Mrawu, a 60-meter-height roaring waterfall. Both waterfalls are flanking Curug Gita in Pejawaran District, which is special since it is a hot spring.

These three paradises are located in Mliken, Giritirta Village, which has become a favorite since 2012’s. It was the Tourism Conscious Group or 'Kelompok Sadar Wisata' (Pokdarwis Dewi Gita) with a mission to beautify the tourist attraction of Surga Air Giritirta. Currently, it is in the stage of designing surely for attracting tourists. 

Building synergy and hard-working seem to be the motto that is already graven on every tourism soldier in Giritirta Village, Pejawaran District. Then, it got appreciation from the government. Head of Department of Tourism and Culture of Banjarnegara Regency, Drs. Agung Yusianto, M.Si, accompanied by Head of Pejawaran District (Anang Sutanto, S.STP, M.Si), Head of the village (Eri Yuliyanti), Village Secretary (Megawati), Chairman of Pokdarwis (Herry), and all members of Pokdarwis Dewi Gita in Giritirta Village visited and directly saw the condition of Sungai Mrawu, a creek of Sungai Serayu, on Wednesday (20/01). 

Head of Department of Tourism and Culture of Banjarnegara Regency mentioned those three water sources as the tourism icon of Giritirta Village and named it Zagita (Zurga Air Giritirta). 

“We have the responsibility to raise the human resources of tourism object managers and Tourism Conscious Group (Pokdarwis) because tourism will improve social welfare when it is managed properly. In managing tourist attractions, we should be patient, optimistic, up to date, and synergized. Moreover, this tourist attraction is close to Dieng Plateau,” said the Head of the Department of Tourism and Culture of Banjarnegara Regency. 

Agung hoped that all of the tourist attractions in Banjarnegara Regency can support tourist attractions in Dieng Plateau so the society could earn some fortunes there. At the same time, the Head of Pejawaran District appreciated the member of the Tourism Conscious Group or 'Kelompok Sadar Wisata', Head of the village, all village apparatus and people in Giritirta Village. 

“I appreciate all spirit and effort from all of you. Let's improve our creativity for our prosperity and I hope it will be long-lasting and consistent in developing the tourist attraction,” said Head of Pejawaran District, Agung. 

The Head of Giritirta Village, Eri Yulianti, stated that those three waterfalls are sources of Sungai Mrawu, the creek of Sungai Serayu, which flows up until the Indian Ocean, “It is believed that Curug Gita, like a hot spring, can cure skin diseases and rheumatic.”
