BLENDUK CHURCH
This church was founded in 1742 AD with its first pastor was Johannes Wilhelmus Swemmelaar (1753-1760 AD). Initially, the church was in the form of a Javanese house on stilts with a roof that matched Javanese architecture. This can be seen on the Semarang City Map in 1756 which shows a different mass configuration from today. In 1894-1895, the church was rebuilt by H.P.A. De Wilde and W. Westmaas in its current form. In terms of building design architecture, the Blenduk Church (GPIB Immanuel) is in the Pseudo Barouque style (European architectural style from the 17-to 19 centuries). Each renovation is immortalized on the marble stone. These renovations did not change the characteristics of the building which adopted the elegant and aristocratic classical European architectural style.
