While the south and west of the Mosque Complex are the Kauman Village area.
According to historical studies, the time of the establishment of the Jami Lasem Mosque itself cannot be known with certainty. However, some of the inscriptions at the Jami Lasem Mosque can be data related to the time of the establishment and restoration of the mosque. In the main room of the mosque, there are five inscriptions written in Arabic and one inscription in Javanese. Four of the five inscriptions contain numbers in 1829 AD, 1318 H, 1281 H, and 1286 H. It is not known that the figures relate to the establishment or restoration of mosques, because the inscriptions only contain toyyibah sentences or sentences of praise. Based on the available data, the Jami Lasem Mosque in the past played an important role in socio-political life.
