KARANG MELATI TOURISM VILLAGE

This village is a typical Batik processing center for Demak Regency, which has a distinctive style, namely Ulam Segaran Motif Batik, Cupot Crab Motif Batik, Tegalan Watermelon Motif Batik, Demak Grand Mosque Motif Batik.

There are also educational tours for making bedug (drums) and rebana (tambourines) made of hard wood such as teak and jackfruit wood to be used as the basic ingredients for making drums. The results have been exported to Brune Darussalam, Malaysia to South Korea.

For cultural tourism, there are zipin and tambourine dances which are usually held during almsgiving events. Then there is religious tourism where there is a tomb known as the Tomb of Mbah Rukem who is the ancestor and cook of the Demak Palace.
