PAPAK BUILDING
Salatiga has many historical buildings from the Dutch colonial authority that date back centuries. The Papak Building, which used as the Salatiga Mayor's Office, is one of the buildings. Built in 1850, the building was designed for Queen Juliana's use as a house when she visited her colony. The term "Papak" came from the building's flat shape (Javanese Papak), in contrast to other buildings during the Dutch colonial era, most of which had European-style architecture.
