SEPLAWAN CAVE

Seplawan cave is located at Donorejo village, Kaligesing district. It is around 20km to the east from the downtown Purworejo on altitude of 700 m above sea level, so it has fresh air. This cave has a special feature in the form of ornaments, such as stalagtite, staklamite, flowstone, helekit, soda straw, gower dam and walls ornamented like a fish skeleton. The surrounding of this cave is very impressive. It has beautiful natural scenery with various floras such as moss (at the mouth of the cave), ferns and pine forests panorama. Visitors can enjoy the flower garden around the cave. The length of the seplawan cave is + 700 m with branches cave about 150-300 m and diameter 15 m. This amazing cave increasingly well known for the discovery of a gold statue of Shiva and goddess in 1.5 kg weight on 28 August 1979, the statue is now kept in the National Museum in Jakarta.
