SEWU TEMPLE

Candi Sewu is a Buddhist temple built in the 8th century, located near Prambanan Temple, approximately 800 meters north of Prambanan. Candi Sewu is also known as Candi Manjusrighra. At the entrance of the temple, there are a pair of Dwarapala statues, giant guardian statues with a height of around 2.3 meters. The main temple of Candi Sewu has a polygonal layout with 20 corners, resembling a cross shape with a diameter of 29 meters and a height reaching 30 meters.
