Tien Kok Sie Temple
Tien Kok Sie Temple, a place of worship for the Tri Dharma community (Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism), is the oldest temple in Solo, established in 1745. According to Sumantri Dana Waluya, Chairman of the Tien Kok Sie Foundation, the temple was built by merchants who stopped over in Solo and also served as a place for social gatherings. Located south of Pasar Gede in Sudiroprajan Subdistrict, Jebres, the temple is surrounded by shops and markets, standing on land granted by the Kasunanan Surakarta Palace.
