Batik Jlamprang Dance

is a traditional dance portraying activities of batik tulis making processes. Batik as an original cultural heritage of Indonesia that has been acknowledged by UNESCO needs to be preserved through a dance. The dancers are wearing batik with Jlamprang pattern in performing the dance because this pattern is the signature pattern of Pekalongan batik.The dance has been performed in the opening of the International Batik Week event, National Batik's Day celebration on October 2nd, 2013, the Anniversary of Pekalongan Municipality on April 1st, 2013, Flag Lowering Ceremony on August 17th, 2013, and some other occasions.
