BLORA BARONGAN

Barong art or better known as Barongan art is a typical art of Central Java. However, from several areas in Central Java, Blora Regency, in quantity, its presence is more than other regencies.

Barongan art comes from the saga of Panji, which is a story that begins with a cavalry convoy escorting Raden Panji Asmarabangun / Pujonggo Anom and Singo Barong. Barongan in barongan art is a complement that is made to resemble Singo Barong or a big lion as the ruler of a haunted and very wild forest.

Barongan art performances are also equipped with equipment that functions as musical instruments, including: Kendang, Gedhuk, Bonang, Saron, Demung and Kempul. Along with the times, there are several additions to modern instruments, namely in the form of drums, trumpets, large drums and keyboards. Sometimes in some performances it is often combined with mixed art.
