BUNDENGAN
Bundengan is a traditional wonosobo musical instrument made of woven bamboo. It doubles as a body protector from rain and heat, as well as a stringed instrument. In the past, Bundengan was played by herders to entertain themselves while working. The unique sound of the strings, which are strummed using a special tool, creates a distinctive melody that combines traditional and natural elements. The resulting music usually accompanies traditional dances or is played in folk art performances. The Bundengan has become one of the Intangible Cultural Heritage designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020.
