SELIKURAN 'NIGHT TRADITION'
This celebration aims to welcome the night of Lailatul Qadar which comes on the odd day of the month of Ramadhan and is called a night that is more glorious than a thousand months.
Held in a procession, the kirab starts from the Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace to the Great Mosque of Surakarta. Tumpeng Sewu and Ting Lamp (Lantern) became icons at the Kirab Malam Selikuran.
