TARI TOPENG LENGGER
Wonosobo's Lengger Mask Dance is one of the region's iconic traditional performing arts heritages and has been designated as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020. The dance involves the use of masks as the main element, which symbolize different characters or emotions. Dancers with graceful and energetic movements bring to life a performance atmosphere that combines the beauty of dance and local cultural values. The masks in this dance are not only a means of expression, but also have symbolic meanings. Each mask reflects a certain role in the story being told, such as a good, evil, or wise character.
