ACI TOFU

Aci tofu is one of the culinary specialties of Tegal City. If you visit Tegal City, it is not complete until you taste aci tofu. Aci tofu is made from yellow tofu in the shape of a square which is then cut in half crosswise, then each part is given a dough made of starch or aci, pieces of chives leaves, and other spices. Many out-of-town tourists buy aci tofu which is still raw but has been given the dough, so it's just a matter of frying it.

The famous Tofu Aci in Tegal City is Tofu Aci Nata Jaya on Jl, Diponegoro and Jl. AR. Hakim, Tahu Aci Ibu Umi on Jl. Werkudoro, and Tofu Aci Sari Rasa on Jl. AR. Judge Gang 13.

There is also a thing called Tahu pletok, which is aci tofu that has been fried, then split into pieces but the halves are not broken, and then fried again until dry.
