Botok Mercon

The restaurant was firstly initiated by Mr Wiroatmojo (65 years old, now) a nd Mrs. Tumiyem (62 years old, now), in 1994. It serves super spicy botok of Patin fish. Unlike the ordinary botok that is mainly made of mlanding and coconut shred, this botok is actually a development of garang asem food with super spicy seasons. Because of the super spicy taste, the tourists call it “botok mercon” (mercon: firecracker, Javanese) since it feels like cracking inisde your mouth when you eat it. It takes 45kg of patin fish and 15kg chillies.
