KUPAT BLENGONG

Kupat Blengong is a special dish of Tegal City. What is Blengong? Blengong is a cross-breed between duck which is the result of farm animals from Sumurpanggang Village and Pesurungan Lor Village, Margadana District. Blengong is then processed into dishes such as offal satay, meat, blengong bones (balungan), and blengong skin with a spicy red sauce. Blengong that has been processed is then can be added for the kupat sayur (rice cake with vegetables) with yellow broth and red spices which can also be added with ground cayenne pepper made on top of layah (a type of mortar made of wood used to make chili sauce) all of which appetizing. Kupat blengong is similar to kupat glabed, what differs is kupat glabed served with blengong satay.
