Sego Megono

Megono rice is a signature dish of Pekalongan which has a pretty unique yet delicious taste. The basic ingredient to make Megono is almost similar to gudeg Jogja. Both are made using unripe jackfruits. However, Sego Megono is served with no soup. To make Sego Megono, the unripe jackfruits or gori are chopped and mixed with grated young coconut and special spices. Sego Megono is usually served along with fish or meat. Nasi Megono can be found in food stalls around Pekalongan square, Sorogenen, and Jetayu.
