TEMPE KEMUL

Tempe Kemul is Wonosobo's signature fried food that is a loyal companion to Ongklok Noodles and all other culinary delights. The word “kemul” in Javanese means “blanket”, referring to the layer of flour batter that wraps around the tempeh slices. The turmeric and garlic seasoning used in the batter gives it a savory taste and distinctive aroma that makes it hard to resist. Besides accompanying Ongklok noodles, tempe kemul is often enjoyed as an afternoon snack with a cup of tea.
